Today, is the big day which is our performance at the Esplanade to celebrate AHS' 50th aniversary celebration.

I went to school at 8.30 am. We were then given our security passes for entering the Esplanade. Not long after, we got on the bus and went there. After reaching there, Clinton and Justin brought us in to the backstage place and brought us to our rooms. The sec 4s and basses took a room while the rest of us took the other. The room was like that kind of dressing rooms in old shows. There are light bulbs all over the mirrors. It was to see how we looked on stage as it was as bright as the stage lights. All of us then went down for a briefing, followed by our warm-ups, then a technical run-through. After that, we went had our lunch. The lunch was quite miserable, it was just some fried rice with 2 stuffs.

After lunch, we went to change into our gowns and then put on our make-up. We got ready for our final full dress rehearsal. We went on stage and sang our 4 songs. Then, we went back to our room and waited patiently. Dinner came soon and Qian Yu and I went to the artist lounge to eat. There is a computer, a tv, sofas, tables and chairs. It was a very nice place.

Finally, the concert began. It started with the concert band. They played some songs from the show The Phantom Of The Opera. It was played through the pa system. We carried on pratising until it was time for us to get ready. We then walked quietly to the backstage of the satge and got into our positions. After the guitar and the soloist finished their item,it was our turn to go on stage. It was the time to put what we learnt into use. My heart was beating more quickly. As I stepped onto stage and into my position, I could see many people from where I stood. We began singing and not long after, the item was over. As choir was the last item, we stayed on stagefor the finale item. We sang the song and then left the stage before coming back on stage for photo taking after all the audience left.

After the whole thing ended, we went back to our room and packed our things and then went back. But on my way out, I saw Mr Tong sitting on the chair at the side. I said hi to him and then walked away. Then, I met my mum and then went home.

It was such a tiring day but also a memorable one as it was my first choir performance, as well as one at the Esplanade.

Signing off...
